10 Questions With Mustafa Hussaini (by Darrick Patrick)
Mustafa Hussaini is a professional mixed martial artist who has competed in organizations such as King Of The Cage, Extreme Fighting Challenge, Shooto, Ironheart Crown, Xtreme Fighting Organization, Extreme Challenge, Silverback Classic, and Freestyle Combat Challenge.
Darrick: How did you end up competing professionally in mixed martial arts?
Mustafa: I kinda' just fell into it - I found Hackney's Combat Academy one day, joined the gym, and just found out it was what my passion is.
Darrick: Who are some of the people that greatly influenced you while growing up?
Mustafa: My greatest influence with sports were my wrestling coaches in high school. They instilled those values in me that an athlete requires.
Darrick: What does a typical training session for you consist of?
Mustafa: When I am training for a fight, I lift three times a week, and spar and drill moves five times a week.
Darrick: Any words of advice for younger individuals looking to train in MMA?
Mustafa: It's not as easy as it looks, but everyone has to start somewhere.
Darrick: What personally brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?
Mustafa: Putting together the different techniques to get the better of your opponent.
Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?
Mustafa: I of course respect my coach Keith Hackney, and I have a lot of admiration for Anderson Silva and B.J. Penn's skills.
Darrick: Outside of MMA, what are your other interests?
Mustafa: I am working towards a doctorate in pharmacy, and I like to go out and socialize.
Darrick: If you had 24 hours left to live, how would you spend that time?
Mustafa: With close family and friends.
Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.
Mustafa: I can solve the Rubik's Cube!
Darrick: What is your oldest memory?
Mustafa: I remember once I zipped too fast.
