10 Questions With Paul Karsky (by Darrick Patrick)
Paul Karsky is a professional mixed martial artist who has appeared in organizations such as King Of The Cage, Gladiator Challenge, Chaos In The Cage, Fist Series, World Cage Fighting Organization, Battle In The Ballroom, and Invincible.
Darrick: How did you end up competing in professional mixed martial arts?
Paul: Started wrestling when I was twelve, then saw a PRIDE fight and wanted to try it.
Darrick: In your experience so far, what brings you the most fulfillment out of martial arts?
Paul: The people involved in the sport and just being able to compete.
Darrick: Who are some of the people that greatly influenced you while growing up?
Paul: Tyson Johnson, Kristyn Karsky, and Frank Vega.
Darrick: What does a "normal" training session for you consist of?
Paul: I train about two hours a day - it consists of hard grappling, striking, and intense cardio.
Darrick: Who are a few of the people in the sport that you highly respect?
Paul: Tyson Johnson has been there for me growing up, pushing me to my limits and towards my goals. Brian Warren because I fought him when I was seventeen, and he is a legend and good friend now - and someone to look up to in the sport of MMA.
Darrick: Any words of advice for other individuals looking to train in MMA?
Paul: Just train hard and fight your heart out. Win, lose, or draw - never look back, just keep moving forward. Every great fighter loses.
Darrick: Outside of mixed martial arts, what are your other interests?
Paul: My beautiful daughter Nataley, my wife, fishing, and ballet.
Darrick: What is your oldest memory?
Paul: When I was first learning how to kickbox, I went home and kicked my sister in the face when she had braces, and her mouth just poured blood. I got my ass whooped by my mom.
Darrick: Tell us something about you that most people don't know.
Paul: I like the Dixie Chicks.
Darrick: When you're no longer amongst the living, how would you most like people to remember you?
Paul: As a great person who was always fun to be around, and as a loving father and husband.
